Dear Friends,
We wanted to let you know that our thoughts will be with those of you who are at the Memorial Event tonight commemorating our great hero, Al Ellis. Not a day goes by when we don’t think about him, and his superb words of wisdom, and the positive effect that he had on our lives, and that we are consequently able to pass along to many others.
For those of you who simply cannot get to the Memorial Event we want to create a sense of connection to the event. If you want to share your thoughts with others, please send us an email and we will pass it on.
For immigration control reasons and financial reasons we can’t be with you, and we deeply regret that fact! But we both remember his work and spread the wisdom of REBT in our areas of teaching and counselling, on a daily basis.
We want to invite you, if you are ever in our part of England, to meet up with us so we can keep the power of his work alive in the world. This is the least we can do for Al, and we would love to have some of you as guest speakers at an English event in the North of England which would be a great chance for the growing support for REBT to be maintained and increased. So please remember (if you are one of our American cousins) that English REBT will give you a very strong welcome if you ever decide to come over here for a visit.
We want to express our gratitude to everybody for the wonderful work that was done to support Al. We especially want to mention his devoted widow, Debbie, and Gayle Rosellini who both championed his cause so relentlessly and devotedly. So many people have contributed in their own way to his cause, and to the cause of REBT. Just knowing that you were on Al’s side was a contribution!
What can we do now? What would Al say, if he could “look down” on us? (Echoes of childhood discourses!) I think I’ve got an idea of what he might say: “Use whatever means are available to you to keep up the good work!”
We will, Al, for as long as we are capable of action! He helped us – and we’ll help others with what he created. We will continue to mourn him – and then we’ll go out and have a f***ing ball. That is, we are sure, what he would have wanted us to do.
Love from us in Yorkshire to everyone, whether or not you manage to get to the event. Look after yourselves and don’t forget Unconditional Self Acceptance (USA)!! (And UOA!!!)

Grateful friends of the late Dr Albert Ellis
“He did his bit (a huge bit) and earned his release!”
We are marked by his existence for all time!
So farewell then, Al. You were a “closet mensch” with a heart of gold!
Mere words cannot close this message. We will persist!

Hi,
It was a very serious oversight that we forgot to mention Janet Wolfe's 30 years of devoted contribution to the development of REBT. Without her it would not have happened!
Love,
Jim
